Cane toads pose a significant threat to biodiversity, impacting humans, other animals, and the ecosystems they inhabit. In the Northern Territory, cane toads and their offspring have become a significant pest problem. The Cane Toad Tadpole Trap and Lure system can be simply placed in a body of water (dams, streams, ponds and more), the lure is then used to attract the cane toad tadpoles by the active ingredient, pheromone, that creates a scent plume in the water that attracts the tadpoles.
The lure system presents an environmentally sound and effective means of capturing tadpoles, thereby reducing the number of cane toads in the ecosystem, without adversely affecting the health of waterways or indigenous frog species.
